The second annual Low Carbon City Lecture will be held on Tuesday 18th November 2014. The lecture will held at Leicester City Council’s brand new City Hall and will once again be hosted by the Deputy City Mayor Rory Palmer. Leicester’s Low Carbon City Lecture will bring together local experts to debate climate change, finding a way to engage all the various sectors and bringing them together to discuss important climate change challenges. Dr. Eckart Würzner, Elected Mayor of the city of Heidelberg, and current President of the Energy Cities network is to be the keynote speaker. Dr. Würzner has announced that the title of his talk is ‘Sustainable City Development – The example of Heidelberg’, and will focus on the lessons and inspiration Leicester can derive from Heidelberg’s pioneering work towards becoming a zero carbon city.
